SANTA CLAUS

Jill & Jerry invited us to Riverside to see Santa Claus. It was no ordinary visit. Dylan, Dallas, and Tyler were hanging out with their cousins.

They were serving hotdogs, chicken strips, and mac & cheese.

This is the kids patiently waiting for Santa Claus to come.

Santa Claus arrived in a helicopter. They all thought that was the coolest thing. It was hard to get a good picture once the helicopter blew snow all over the window.

Dylan, first asked Santa Claus for an elf for Christmas. Santa Claus said that he didn't think that he could spare one of his. So then Dylan said...ok well then I guess an ipod nano.

Dallas had a hard time thinking what he wanted, but he did ask Santa if he was on the naughty list.

Tyler had a whole list of things to tell Santa....idog, dog, hamster, night vision.

They also had clowns making all sort of things out of balloons for all the kids.

Thanks for the invite Jill & Jerry!!

The boys loved it!!

Temple Square

We went to Temple Square on Thursday night. It was fun to see all the lights.

Gingerbread House Building

Here is our annual gingerbread house construction. There was a little bit of issues this year and we had to pull out the glue gun. Normally, I instruct them on what to do by following the picture. This year, I decided to let them do whatever they wanted as long as they all agreed. The agreeing part was the hard part.

Tyler loses another tooth

Tyler had been wiggling this tooth for awhile and wouldn't let us pull it out. I talked him into letting me have one try at it and I almost had it. It started bleeding. Well the next day he pulled it out himself. :)

Orange Sticks

So Shane thinks Orange Sticks (those really gross things that they sell at Christmas time with nasty orange jelly crap inside chocolate) are the best thing since sliced bread. He said that I should take a poll because he thinks that I am weird that I don't like them. So I am relying on all you. Comment saying whether you love or hate them.

Some people..............

So last night around 8 pm, Shane and I are sitting in the hot tub. Dylan comes outside and tells us that someone is at the door and needs to talk to us. We asked who and Dylan said "I don't know, just some guy." We told him to tell him that we were in the hot tub and find out who it was. He came back and said that the guy said it was important, something about a newspaper. (I am thinking who would be at our door saying something about a newspaper being important. Either one of Shane's friends being funny or some random guy who is going to end up kidnapping our kids because he was just told that we were out in the hot tub.) So Shane tells Dylan to tell him if it is so important then he can come out and talk to us out here. So I am laughing wondering who it is...
So a couple minutes later, I see Dylan walking around the house with a guy. I can't really see who it is. Well he comes right up onto our deck and is right in front of the hot tub and starts into some speech about how we need to subscribe to some newspaper. He didn't get very far into the speech before I interupted him and said, "Are you kidding me? You told my son that this was so important to sell a newspaper that you walked into our backyard to try and make a sale while we are sitting in our hot tub!!!!" Then I shooed him and said, "GO!!"
Can you believe that someone has the guts to do that. Shane was laughing so hard that I had shooed him away, but I was disgusted that someone would actually do that.

My Gift to You

I am not a fan of Country music, but I would like you to listen to this song really listen to the words. It is my gift to you, don't wait for some catastrophic or live changing event to live this way.

I just had another scan and everything looks great, I am continuing on with the trial drug. I really am lucky\blessed, another patient received the trial drug just recently and after taking it for a short time has started experiencing mouth sores the size of quarters.

Championship Game

Dylan

Dallas

Today was Dylan & Dallas's Championship game. They were playing against the PG Vikings. They were so excited to play. We knew that it was going to be a good game. It started off pretty well and we scored first. 7 - 0

After the first half, they scored a touchdown, but missed their extra point. So the score was 7-6. This is exactly what had happened in the season game that we played against them. Well in the last quarter, the Vikings scored another touchdown, putting the score at 13-7. The Vikings won.

It was such a sad site to see all these 4th grade boys in tears. It brought tears to my eyes. They had worked so hard for the last 3 months having gone undefeated all season....having already beat this same team...to now lose the championship. I stood there watching the awards ceremony as all the boys went up to get their medal. Most all the boys were crying. Dylan & Dallas's coaches are pretty awesome. When they were giving the medals to PG, our coaches were telling the boys to clap and cheer for their team because they had done well and earned it. What great examples their coaches are to those boys.

After the game, the coaches told them how proud they were of them and they loved them. It was such a sad but sweet moment. It was hard for me not to start crying as I was hugging my crying boys telling them how great they had played. They learned so much. I am very proud of them with how hard they worked this year.

Halloween!!

Halloween was one hectic day this year. The boys were so excited. Tyler was awake when Shane was leaving for the gym around 6 am. He tried to get him to go back to bed, but was back up asking me what was for breakfast around 6:40.

I sent them off to school and followed a bit later for their costume parade.
It was a little tricky trying to get a good picture while they walked around this windy maze.

After the parade, I grabbed some lunch for Tyler and I from Subway and went back to eat lunch at school with Tyler. He was so excited and told me that he loved that I came to eat lunch with him. It wasn't 2 or 3 minutes later that he was looking for all his friends in the lunchroom and saying, "Mom, I'm full. I am going to go to recess now." He cracks me up. It worked out perfect, as I was supposed to be in to set up for Dallas's class Halloween party.

So for Dallas's party they had planned to do a Fear Factor party. They had to see how long they could hold icecubes in their mouthes, eat Monster Eyeballs (green olives), and put their hand in a jar to get coins out that had live crickets. Dallas wouldn't eat the olives, but was excited to pick out the coins with the crickets...cRaZy!!

They all had a blast trick-or-treating.
Dallas as "Bloody Bones"

Tyler as "Batman"

(I think this is his 4th year in a row as Batman)

Fabulous Football!!

Dylan #43
Doesn't he look so old...can't believe he is only 9
Dallas #32
Look at that cute smile!!
I am going to have to watch out for the girls, as I am already hearing about all the ones that he likes.

So Dylan and Dallas's football team is undefeated. They won all 8 season games. They were ranked #1. So last Saturday, they had their first play-off game against another Lone Peak team (ranked #4) coached by Coach Freeman. Needless to say, they kicked butt and won. It was a good game!! Pleasant Gove (#2) played American Fork #3 and PG won. So they will be playing Pleasant Grove this Saturday in the championship game.
Both our team and PG were undefeated until we played them during the season and we ended up winning 7-6. So it will definitely be a good game!!

Jen's 30th Birthday

So I celebrated my 30th birthday WEEKEND - it was a 3 day event.

I showed up to work on Friday and my office was decorated with balloons, candy and all sorts of fun stuff.

Then we had our group gathering and I chose Raspberry Bread Pudding from Kneaders...yum yum. (I choose it every year).

Friday night, Shane and I went to dinner with some friends that live in our cul-de-sac -- Tara & Mike and Cara & Mark. Cara and I have the same birthday, so we went to dinner at Market Street/Oyster Bar. I ate way too much, but of course after we decided to leave, we all decided we needed dessert and headed to Goodwood to get Brownie Sundaes.

Then Saturday night, Shane made reservations for all 5 of us (Me, Shane, Dylan, Dallas, & Tyler) to go to the Chef's Table. I love that place!! The boys thought it was pretty cool since they have never been to a nice restaurant.

We got home and Shane told the boys to help him with something in the garage and told me to go inside. Well this is what I was met with when I opened the door.....

SURPRISE!!!!

Yes that is Wendy who is attacking me with the silly string

I thought I was safe...oh wait...NOPE!!

I am not sure how many cans of silly string got shot at me, but I was covered!!

Shane, with the help of Wendy and friends, had pulled off a surprise party for me. It was lots of fun!! I had asked for Chocolate cake from Magelbys....oh yum...There was a huge cake and I think it will last a year.

Hun, thanks for such a great birthday!!

Thanks Wendy for helping Shane!!

Ohh and I almost forgot all the great birthday presents from Shane....umm let's see...I got everything I asked for...Ugg boots, new clothes, Nautica quilt, dishes, rug....EVERYTHING!!

Tackle Football

So Dylan and Dallas decided that they wanted to play tackle football this year. I was a little concerned because I heard how time consuming practices are. They started at the beginning of August with having practice Monday through Friday for 1 1/2 or 2 hours per night. When school started, they cut it back to 3 nights per week for 1 1/2 hours each. Now this is for 4th graders.... Their coaches are pretty intense. All players are guaranteed at least 10 plays in each game if they have shown up to all the practices. If they miss, they don't have to play them at all.

Well Dylan and Dallas absolutely love it!! They come home from practice telling us about the different plays and tackles they did. Dylan is on the starting offense team and is the Tight End. He is a great blocker!! Dallas plays mostly middle linebacker and he loves it!! I tried to get some cool pictures at one of the games...but it's pretty hard to get the timing right so you can actually see one of them instead another player who steps in front.

Dylan is #43 going into block
Dallas is #32
