Tyler - Football 2009

TYLER - #32

This was Tyler's first year of playing tackle football. He realized it was a much bigger commitment than flag football where there were no practices. We were trying to decide what team to put him on. He is in 3rd grade but should be in 2nd. So did he want to play with his friends that would be twice his size or did he want to play with his age and not know anyone. Well he chose to play for the 3rd grade team. He struggled because a lot of the kids had already played for at least one other year. So getting used to the many, many practices was hard for him. But he has been having a lot of fun. He is usually going up against kids twice his size but that doesn't scare him. He has no fear.

Last night the boys carved pumpkins and I made cookies for them to frost and decorate. Lots of fun!!

Tyler is playing machine pitch baseball this year and is loving it. He does a great job at hitting the ball. He is the only kid on the team to over run 1st base and then run to the right, but then he does love to over run 2nd base too. :) Shane is coaching his team this year and Tyler loves that!

The tooth fairy has been busy!!

So Dylan, Dallas, and Tyler all had loose teeth. Dylan and Dallas both pulled theirs out on the same night. Tyler's was very loose and we are trying to talk him into letting us pull it out that same night. We were trying to tell him how cool it would be to have the tooth fairy come visit all 3 of them on the same night. But he just wouldn't do it. Dylan and Dallas both lost the same tooth just on different sides of their mouth.

So a couple days later at church, Tyler kept playing with his tooth. It was so loose that he could push it back and forth with his tongue. He asked to go get a drink and a couple minutes later came running back into sacrament meeting whispering a yell (yes he was trying to be quiet but had a hard time disguising his excitement) "I pulled out my tooth!!"

Tyler had been wiggling this tooth for awhile and wouldn't let us pull it out. I talked him into letting me have one try at it and I almost had it. It started bleeding. Well the next day he pulled it out himself. :)

Christmas Lists

I decided to have my boys write their Christmas lists so that Shane and I can start shopping. Shane and I were pretty entertained not only by some of the things that they were asking for, but by the spelling of them. So we thought we would share the entertainment.

I think it was a contest between Dylan and Dallas to see who could write the most on their lists. I couldn’t even imagine having these kinds of lists when I was a kid. We have been trying to figure out how you get your kids to appreciate what they have, but still have fun, nice things. It seems to be a hard concept for them to grasp.

Tyler's 6th Birthday

Tyler is already 6 years old!! He is sooo old. This was the year of the transformers. He is close to having the whole collection between him and his brothers. He also got a new hamster. For those of you who know the story of the last hamster..it ended very tragically. (Tyler decided to send Spike for a ride in the air in his ball) So we are crossing our fingers that he will live a long and prosperous life. Tyler named his new hamster Barber after Marion Barber who plays for the Dallas Cowboys - his favorite player.
